Old Hickory Country Club
A fine assembly of alumni from Litton and other schools attended The Bash at Old Hickory Country Club on Saturday, July 19, 2008. With an attendance on the order of 200 people, the evening was filled with reacquaintences, eating, and hours of dancing. Although not every Litton class was represented, alumni attendance ranged from the Class of '51 through "The Class That Never Was," the Class of '72. Twelve to fifteen members of the Class of '71 used the occasion for an off-year mini-reunion, thanks to the recruiting efforts of '71 alum, Hal Gibbs. Music by the Howard-Fine Band sent attendees to the hardwood floor to dance to rhythms mainly of the 1950s and 1960s. Special guests — the trio vocal "’Sugar,’ ‘Spice,’ and ‘Cinnamon’, with a special appearance by "Honey” — gave stellar performances, with "Sugar" later displaying her musical talent with the soprano saxophone. I think the roof of the Old Hickory Country Club was at least loosened at bit if not raised completely because, from what I could tell, everyone there had a rousing good time.
